About Central African Republic
The Central African Republic occupies the very heart of the African continent, a landlocked expanse of savanna, rainforest, and winding rivers. Its capital, Bangui, hugs a bend of the Ubangi River on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the country's remote southwest, the Dzanga-Sangha forests shelter forest elephants and western lowland gorillas, some of Central Africa's most remarkable wildlife.
